Membership is currently open for the 2017/2018 Swimming Season
1 October 2017 to 30 September 2018
Ravenswood Swimming Club was established to service the students of Ravenswood School for Girls and members of the wider community.
Our programs aim to foster the growth of every member, through the provision of a proactive and socially engaging environment, and have been designed to cater for all levels of competitive and non-competitive swimmers. We are proud to have provided the Australian Swim Team with both Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
The Ravenswood Swim Club (RSC) is a not-for-profit sporting organisation, with funds raised from its activities being reinvested in the Club for the benefit of the members of all levels. The Club is administered by a volunteer committee and based at Ravenswood School for Girls at Gordon in Sydney, utilising a 25 metre indoor pool all year round.
In turn RSC is a member of Sydney Metro North East (SMNE) Swimming Association and, beyond that, Swimming New South Wales.
All members of Ravenswood Swim Club must complete & agree to the Club’s Membership Policy via an online form found here. http://www.ravenswoodswimclub.com.au/ravenswood-swimming-club-membership-policy/ This is a mandatory requirement for membership for any new and renewing members for the 2017/2018 season.
Please contact our club Registrar via email firstname.lastname@example.org for all membership enquiries.
One parent from each family must also become a non-swimming member of Swimming NSW for swimmers under the age of 18. This provides insurance for that parent in the event of injury whilst performing a duty at any NSW Swimming sanctioned carnivals.

Can I try before I buy?
Of course you can! All swimmers new to the club are able to participate in two “try before you buy” Club Nights without signing up. If they wish to continue beyond that they will need to complete a membership form and pay their membership fees.
What do the Monthly Friday ‘Club Nights’ involve?
RSC Club Nights will take place monthly on a select Friday throughout the year at the Ravenswood school pool. The evening commences with warm up from 5.30pm, with races starting promptly at 6:00pm and the whole evening generally finishing about 7:00pm.
Each night will include a specific selection of strokes/distances, which will vary by night. The list of events will be available on the website so swimmers can choose which events they wish to swim.
Competitors may swim in a maximum of 4 events each night.
The shortest distance race is 25 metres for our junior swimmers. Swimmers who are able to swim 25m in under 25 seconds in a specific stroke are encouraged to compete in the longer events.
For longer distance events (200m, 400m) swimmers must be able to complete the distance in a reasonable time and should check with the coach before entering.
It is important to note that no children less than 12 years of age can be left unsupervised on race nights and must be signed in by the parent/guardian with them to be eligible to participate in Race Night. Parent volunteers are always required for marshalling, timekeeping and at the barbeque if everyone comes prepared to help, the workload is shared and everyone gets to enjoy the night.
A sausage sizzle may be offered and is open to all members for a small fee.
