The Ravenswood Swimming Club provides an opportunity for Ravenswood Swimming Program participants to learn, develop and hone race skills, from beginners to advanced level.
Offering Ravenswood Club and targeted external club racing, as well as area, state and national competitive opportunities, the Ravenswood Swimming Club aims to support swimmers to reach their full potential both in and out of the pool.
Past and present members of the Ravenswood Swimming Club have represented the club at all levels of competition – from local meets through to the Olympic and Paralympic games. The Ravenswood Swimming Club is affiliated with Swimming Metro North East, Swimming NSW and Swimming Australia.
The Ravenswood Swimming Club is a not-for-profit sporting organisation operating within Ravenswood School for Girls, providing coaching and facilities. The club, which is managed by volunteer committee members, also holds regular race meets throughout the year.
Swimmers enjoy an indoor, heated 25-metre pool on campus at Ravenswood School for Girls in Gordon. As well as the six-lane pool, there’s also a seating area for spectators, hot showers and change-room facilities.
The Club is open to both Ravenswood students and members of the wider community, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all aspiring swimmers. Whether you’re just starting out or aiming for elite competition, Ravenswood Swimming Club offers the coaching, support, and facilities to help you thrive.

Life Member
Peter Shell has been involved with swimming at Ravenswood since his daughter Rebecca commenced at Ravenswood in 2008.
He started his officiating journey as a timekeeper and progressed to becoming a referee where he has supported swim meets at Club, District, State and National level. After his daughters left Ravenswood Peter continued to be involved as a technical official. Apart from Covid 19 and a year off in 2023 he has officiated at every Ravenswood Junior and Senior School Swim Carnival. He can be seen on pool deck engaging with swimmers and parents. His contribution and support to Ravenswood Swim Club has been exceptional and greatly appreciated by all members.
