Over the past weekend 36 of our Ravenswood Swimmers competed in a whopping 228 individual events, as well as 9 relays at the SMNE Winter Championships held at SOPAC on 15-16 June 2019.

As this was our first major meet for the winter short course season, the emphasis for racing was on execution of skills and race plans under pressure. All of the swimmers stepped up to produce some exceptional racing, with our Ravens winning medals, gaining top 10 places, achieving NSW Metropolitan and State times as well as ACT State times. It was also great to see so many of our younger Ravens racing, some for the first time, with such great intent all weekend.

Our Ravens won:

  • 10 Gold
  • 9 Silver
  • 11 Bronze
  • 25 Top 10

A special mention to Tomas Elliot, who set a new SMNE record in the Men’s 100m IM with a time of 55.22.

Once again congratulations to all our swimmers on a fantastic weekend of racing, and a massive thank you to all the parents who helped out with time keeping.
